Join us on Sunday, June 14 for a seminar hosted by renowned tattoo artist David Roque! Whether you’re a tattoo artist yourself, or a fine artist more generally, this seminar covers methods for breaking down shapes and lines to help you design and draw more confidently.
In this afternoon-long course, David breaks down the systems he uses to create strong, dynamic compositions. You’ll learn:
Cross contours
Thumbnailing
Silhouetting
Drawing with negative space, & more!
We’ll break things out into two distinct sections: the “armature of the rectangle” uses underlying geometry to guide flow, movement, and structure to build more aesthetically appealing dynamic compositions, while “drawing with force” covers how to draw confident, intentional lines with direction, energy, and clarity.
The seminar runs from 12-3pm with a break in the middle, and a 30 minute Q&A session at the end. Attendees will receive a booklet containing all information provided as part of this course so they can follow along, as well as pages for notes and drawing exercises!
Tickets are $300 per person and are nonrefundable. While this event is geared towards tattooers, any artists aged 18+ are welcome to attend. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance via this page!
