Welcome to Richmond, VA
Home of Furry Tattoo Weekend!
Richmond is a great city with plenty to do! When you’re not suiting, partying, or getting tattooed, you should check out our list of RVA recommendations.
What else is there to do in Richmond?
In Northside near Unkindness Art, we recommend you check out the local businesses along Brookland Park Boulevard: peruse I Love You So Much Books, browse the crafting goodies at Scrap RVA, grab a drink or sandwich at Morty's, sip some 'booch from Ninja Kombucha, or enjoy a treat from Ruby Scoops!
Throughout Richmond, there are plenty of museums (the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is free!), vintage shops, record stores, gothic + oddity boutiques, and music venues to visit. Ask your tattooer or friendly Unkindness staffer what you should do while visiting Richmond for FTW!
Where should I stay?
While our immediate neighborhood unfortunately does not have hotels within walking distance, Richmond is a small city - there are many hotels within a short 10-15 minute drive from Unkindness Art. Here is a list of nearby hotels we recommend.
Richmond is a very car-dependent city, so you’ll likely be relying on Lyft/Uber/your own vehicle to get around. We recommend rideshare/carpooling wherever possible - there’s plenty of street parking in Northside, but it gets crowded when we host events.
